Most closely associated with Glasgow's Park Circus development, Charles Wilson created many other buildings in the city and in Scotland.
This talk looks at the output of Scottish architect Charles Wilson (1810-1863), which in Glasgow included the Gartnavel Royal Asylum, the Queen’s Rooms, and Free Church College, but he is most closely associated with the Park Circus development, as well as assisting Sir Joseph Paxton with the layout of Kelvingrove Park. His other important mansions include Woodside House in Paisley and Lews Castle in Stornoway.
A practising architect and historian, Fiona Sinclair has contributed to a various books surveying Scottish architecture and has twice been President of the Glasgow Institute of Architects.
