Glasgow850: Mitchell Library Talks
Our series of weekly talks at the Mitchell Library continues, with upcoming August talks including two by Lorraine Murray on Miss Catherine Cranston, and Paul Bassett looking at the last 50 years of theatre in Glasgow.
All talks are on Saturdays at the Mitchell Library and free to attend - further information and ticket booking is available on our website.
Future talks from September onwards will be released soon.
18th Annual General Meeting
On Saturday 30th August we will also hold our 18th Annual General Meeting. The meeting will be held at Struthers Memorial Church (52 Westbourne Gardens Glasgow G12 9XF) from 10:30 am and be followed by viewing the nearby Westbourne Terrace and a visit to 4 Great Western Terrace.
The AGM is open to all but tickets must be booked in advance via eventbrite (members can attend for free but please RSVP by email or book using the member discount code).
Mitchell Library Alexander Thomson drawings
The entire Alexander Thomson Collection is now documented on the MIMSY database, and digitised on the Glasgow Museums Collections Navigator page.
We are currently supporting the Library to enhance the records with information about each drawing, the building or elements shown, owner(s), and relevant articles, where they exist etc. This will be particularly helpful in relation to the “Unidentified sketches”!
