Thomson 150 / Glasgow 850
Thomson150 at the Mitchell
2025 sees the 150th anniversary of the death of Alexander ‘Greek’ Thomson which took place at his home in 1 Moray Place, Strathbungo on the 22nd March 1875.
To mark the occasion the Alexander Thomson Society developed a month-long exhibition in Glasgow's Mitchell Library in March and April showing Thomson’s plans and drawings, photographs of his buildings both extant and demolished, and other artefacts.
Alongside the exhibition, the Society organised weekly talks and films at the Mitchell about Thomson and his work.
Images of the exhibition can be seen below, photographed by Christopher Bowen.
