Buchanan Street Guided Walk
From its earliest beginnings in the late 18th century to today, Buchanan Street has been a street of changes. Moving from mansions and villas on the very western edge of the city to department stores in the heart of Glasgow, Buchanan Street has a story to tell. Featuring Glasgow's first covered shopping arcade (and its only remaining one), cut short to the north in the 1980s by the Buchanan Galleries and Glasgow Royal Concert Hall, the street tells a story of Glasgow’s growth and continuing change. Today, it still features buildings by David Hamilton, John Baird I, James Sellars and others.
This free guided walk, conducted by Fiona Sinclair and Dominic d'Angelo, tells the story of how a street has changed and the city alongside it.
Meet outside St Enoch Underground station.
