We await a decision from Glasgow City Council on the proposed Compulsory Purchase Order for Egyptian Halls in Union Street.
A proposal for a Radisson apart-hotel in Maxwell Street, which would have involved demolishing the B-listed Thomsonesque former McCorquodale printing works (and which includes Thomson-designed railings for the Saracen Foundry), has been rejected by the City Council. It was claimed by the developers that the façade could not be saved owing to cement rendering having been applied.
