Niall Murphy considers the late 19th Century achievements of the City Improvement Trust, which transformed much of Glasgow’s historic city centre and the Gorbals, commissioning new tenements and supporting commercial development in aid of the city’s continuing expansion.

Niall Murphy is Director of the Glasgow City Heritage Trust and hosts the Trust’s “If Glasgow’s Walls could Talk” podcast.
