Glasgow 850 Film: 'A Symphony in Stone'

  • The Mitchell Library North Street Glasgow, Scotland, G3 7DN United Kingdom (map)

Tony Burton’s award-winning film uncovers the genius behind Glasgow’s extraordinary Victorian and Edwardian heritage of buildings, the wealth that built much of the city and its ties to the transatlantic trade in tobacco, sugar, and slavery, and how Glasgow reinvented itself as a world leader in engineering and shipbuilding, and innovation in design, architecture, and planning. It also highlights the work of notable architects like Alexander "Greek" Thomson, Charles Wilson, and Charles Rennie Mackintosh.

Tickets are free but must be booked online.
