The Lost Library

In 1883 the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow published a catalogue of the books in their collection, including the architectural section of which Thomson was formerly on the committee. The books below provide a valuable insight into the source books that may have influenced the architects who were members of the Glasgow Architectural Society, and subsequently the Architectural Section of the Royal Philosophical Society of Glasgow.

Of the 300 volumes in the original collection, digital access to 237 is currently available. If you have digital editions of these missing books or are able to provide access to a copy for digitisation please contact: info@alexanderthomsonsociety.org.uk
